About Me

My photo
Another Old Guy Racer
I started racing back in the 80's in the beautiful town of Santa Cruz, California. I was a “run happy” triathlete looking to get a pedal up on my fellow tri-guys by training with the Santa Cruz Cycling Club or S4C's. My first Saturday morning ride out of Santa Cruz and into the town of Watsonville left me panting and shelled off the back. I realized I may have been a decent triathlete but I didn't know crap about bike racing. It took me a year of steady training to hang with the lead group and I never looked back on triathlons again (couldn't swim all that great anyway). Now fast forward 25 years, and 3 kids later, and I've returned to racing in my early 50s. I left being a Roadie back in the 90's but started up again in 2004. I haven't always raced every year since 2004 but It's a rare day when you can't find me on my Colnago C40 or my “Mistress” as my wife has coined her.
